Wio-E5-LE Dev Kit features ultra-long range transmission, extremely low chip power draw, and user-friendly interfaces. Designed to unlock the Wio-E5-LE module's full capabilities, it provides access to all 28 pins and abundant connectivity options including Grove connectors, RS485, and male/female pin headers. This allows connecting sensors and modules with various connectors and data protocols without wire soldering, saving development time. The kit can also be easily powered using the on-board battery holder with 2 AA batteries, enabling temporary use without an external power source. With its versatile connectivity and ease of use, the Wio-E5-LE Dev Kit enables rapid testing and prototyping.
Since Wio-E5-LE is a LoRaWAN chip with an MCU, there are three main ways to utilize the Wio-E5-LE Dev Board:
- Connect Wio-E5-LE Dev Kit to PC and control it using AT commands
There is a built-in USB to UART function on board, you could just simply connect the Wio-E5-LE Dev Kit to your PC with a USB type C cable, and use serial communication software to send AT commands and read data from the board
- Connect Wio-E5-LE Dev Kit to another mainboard via UART and control it using AT commands sent through the UART connection
For example, connect Wio-E5-LE Dev Kit to Seeed Studio XIAO and the Expansion Board via UART, and send AT commands and read data from Seeed Studio XIAO through Arduino IDE serial monitor.
- Develop user application by using SDK
Develop your own LoRa development board with MCU function by using STM32Cube Programmer, which is the SDK officially provided by STMicroelectronics. To download this SDK resource, please click here.
